Terry Crawford

Managing Director, Aurora International Partners Ltd

Terry Crawford is currently the Managing Director of Aurora International Partners Ltd, a corporate advisory and consulting firm that specialises in cross border transactions and advice. Terry has a deep and strong experience in the banking and investment industry with over 20 years experience in Australia and internationally.

 
 

After completing Law and Economics degrees, Terry commenced practise as a corporate Barrister following which he entered the banking world in which he has held senior management positions in Australia as State Manager, Queensland for both Barclays Bank and HSBC and as Executive Director, Corporate Finance, for Boston Australia. Subsequently, Terry was appointed Head of International Strategic Planning, HSBC Bank plc in London and then appointed as Head of Wealth Management Europe for HSBC Bank plc.

Returning to Australia, Terry was appointed a General Manager of Bank of Queensland and subsequently was appointed General Manager, Queensland Stockland Development Ltd, one of Australia's largest residential development companies. In addition to his role in an investment banking boutique, Terry is a director of a number of other companies, including Government Boards (Queensland Biotechnology Advisory Council, and Central Queensland Ports Authority) and private companies, including CoalSync Pty Ltd and Aurelius Investment Group. Terry is also a Director of the Starlight Children's Foundation, Qld.

 

Bob Christiansen

Southern Cross Venture Partners

Bob Christiansen is a founding Managing Director of Southern Cross Venture Partners. For the previous 8 years, he was a General Partner and member of the Investment Committee of the venture capital firm Allen & Buckeridge which he joined after returning to Australia after 4 years in Europe followed by 20 years in the US.

 
 

At A&B he was involved in investments in several successful early stage Australian technology companies, including eServ Global, Wedgetail Communications, VaST Systems, 8020 Software, Fultec Semiconductor, Mantara, Xerocoat and ActiveTorque. He is a director of a number of technology companies in Australia and the US and is also a director of the Queensland Government supported technology incubator, i.lab.

Bob has more than thirty-five years of experience in computer services, software, and technology with an emphasis on technology applications, business management and operations, system design and development. This experience has been obtained in both large international and small entrepreneurial companies in the USA and Europe.

Bob spent seven years in senior operations and technology roles with Automatic Data Processing Inc (ADP) in Europe and the US. In 1985, he helped found Corbel & Co a Florida-based software company applying artificial intelligence technology in the field of complex document creation. Corbel grew from a small start-up to a leading provider of computer and related services to the employee benefits industry in the US with more than 250 employees and 7,000 clients. In 1993, Corbel was sold to NASDAQ listed Broadway & Seymour Inc. Prior to returning to Australia in 1998 Bob acted as Chief Technology Officer for the Advisor Technology Services Division of Fidelity Investments in Boston. Fidelity is the world's largest mutual fund company.

He holds a Bachelor of Economics and a Diploma of Information Processing from the University of Queensland.

 

 
 

Gordon Dunlop

Professor Gordon Dunlop

Professor Gordon is Executive Director Business Engagement  at The University of Queensland.  He is currently also a Non-Executive Director of UQ Holdings Pty Ltd, UniQuest Pty Ltd, i.lab Incubator Pty Ltd and CMTE Development Limited.

 
 
 

Tim Brailsford 
Board Member

 

Professor Tim Brailsford is currently the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Queensland.  In this role he oversees both academic and administrative matters for the faculty.  Prior to this appointment, Tim was the Foundation Head & Dean of the UQ Business School, Dean of the Faculty of Economics & Commerce at the Australian National University in Canberra.
